In 2022, on the basis of the comprehensive “Lion Census”, the Nanhai Lions were excavated from more than 2,700 existing lions in the region, and 12 representative, inherited and innovative lions formed the Nanhai Lions.

On February 26, 2022, Nanhai District held the first lion group birthday, and the first batch of 12 lions that formed a group officially debuted.
